Our Founder
I’m Not Just the Founder of The Alliance. I Lived It.
After 30 years in HR and a personal journey through domestic abuse, I know that employers have more power to help survivors than almost any other institution in their lives. Not because they become therapists, but because they remove the barriers that keep people trapped.
Employers have more power to help survivors than almost any other institution in their lives.”

A Letter from Our Founder, Mollie Campbell
For eight years, I lived inside an abusive marriage. I showed up to work every day, sat across from struggling employees, wrote performance improvement plans, and counseled supervisors on how to handle difficult situations, never once connecting what I was living through at home with what I was witnessing at work. I had thirty years of HR experience, and I still couldn’t see it.
Two years after I walked away from my abuser, I lost my job. At an age when most people expect to be coasting toward the finish line of their career, I was starting over from scratch. What I had left was a lifetime of experience, a story I hadn’t yet fully claimed, and a question I couldn’t stop asking:
Now what?
The answer came from the intersection of the two lives I had been living in silence. I began speaking publicly about domestic abuse, not just as a survivor, but as an HR professional who had sat on both sides of the desk. That realization changed everything, and eventually led me to found the Employers Against Domestic Abuse Alliance.
The Alliance exists to help employers remove the barriers that keep employees from accessing help, from fear of judgment to lack of resources and worry about job security (among other concerns). These barriers are real and costly. Through training, policy development, and workplace awareness programs, we support organizations in creating environments where employees feel safe enough to reach out, and where the people around them know how to respond with compassion and confidence.
If you are reading this as a survivor, I hear you. I see you. Your story is not over. Mine wasn’t either, not at 58, not after job loss, not after starting over.
And if you are an employer or HR professional, you have more power to change someone’s story than you may realize. The Alliance is here to help you use it.
With gratitude and purpose,
Mollie Campbell

The Statistics That Keep Me Up at Night
of domestic abuse survivors report that the abuse directly impacted their ability to do their job.
of survivors have lost at least one job as a direct result of the violence they experienced at home.
of victims missed one or more days of work due to domestic abuse.
of all workplace violence incidents are related to domestic abuse.
of survivors have stayed in abusive relationships because of financial insecurity, making stable employment not just a benefit, but a lifeline.
These numbers don’t represent a distant problem. They represent people already on your team.
Do these statistics keep you up at night, too?

“The Alliance is addressing an issue too often overlooked in the workplace: domestic abuse does not stay at home—it follows people to work, affecting safety, performance, attendance, and those around them. Mollie Campbell brings the insight, and practical guidance employers need to recognize what may be happening, respond appropriately, and create workplaces where people know they don’t have to navigate it alone.”
