Accreditation

Accreditation – Earn the Recognition That Shows Your Commitment Is Real

The Alliance’s Safe Place Workplace Accreditation is a first-of-its-kind designation in the United States, created to recognize employers who move beyond awareness and take meaningful, measurable action. This accreditation is awarded only to organizations that have fully implemented all eight components of The Alliance’s comprehensive program—embedding policies, training, resources, and leadership accountability into the fabric of their workplace. It is not a symbolic gesture; it is a rigorous standard that reflects a sustained, organization-wide commitment to protecting and supporting employees impacted by domestic abuse.

Accredited employers receive an official electronic badge to display across their digital platforms, including their website and careers page. More than a visual marker, this badge serves as a powerful signal to employees, job seekers, partners, and the broader community that your organization prioritizes safety, dignity, and well-being. It communicates that your workplace is not only aware of the realities of domestic abuse, but actively equipped to respond with compassion, structure, and accountability—setting your organization apart as a leader in employee protection and corporate responsibility.

How does an employer become accredited by The Alliance as a Safe Place Workplace?

There are two paths to accreditation. Or, as a Champion Employer, this paid membership level includes a customized implementation of a Safe Place Workplace Program by The Alliance team and automatic accreditation.

Do we need to be an Alliance member to become accredited?

Yes.

How long does it take to become accredited?

This will depend on the size of the employer, their industry, the number of states where employees work, and commitment and dedication from the employer’s team.

Once a workplace becomes accredited, do they have to reapply?

No, once the employer has the components in place, The Alliance counts on them to keep up their dedication to be a Safe Place Workplace.

What does an employer receive from The Alliance if they become accredited?

They will receive a digital badge which can be posted on their website, a physical sticker they can post on their office front door, and the name of the employer and their logo on The Alliance’s website. The Alliance encourages the employer to put this electronic badge on their career’s page.
